I recently posted about a new debit card and now I read that a similar debit card: bestgoldcard is having problems and perhaps this can be extended to all of these new debit cards…

I recommend you to wait for more news and not order a new debit card.

As you know, some months ago, all debit cards to withdraw your funds through cirrus/maestro ATM,s were terminated. I hope that these new “VISA” cards will not suffer the same problems.
An answer from bestgoldcard:

Dear xxxxxx,

No doubt our cardholders are wondering what’s going on with BestGoldCard! We apologize for keeping everyone in the dark as we sorted out issues arising this week. Due to regulatory issues beyond the control of the bank, the issuing bank of your current (“new”) card is forced to and has in fact terminated your card.

Before reading further, there is very GOOD NEWS:

(*) For those cardholders with a balance… You will receive a refund by cheque direct from the bank within a few days. You will not have to do ANYTHING, fill in any forms etc., to do this.

(*) In a few weeks BGC is offering an amazing new membership that will offer you totally unprecedented benefits in the DGC world, along with an incredible prepaid card unlike anything seen in the industry before in terms of costs and advantages.

(*) BGC will of course replace your current card, which has been terminated today, with the new card completely free of charge, including shipping and handling.

We share the frustration that you will be without a card for 4-8 weeks, but the regulatory environment is absolutely beyond the control of the banks and the DGC industry.

Again, due to regulatory issues beyond the control of the bank, the issuing bank of your current (“new”) card is forced to and has in fact terminated your card. Yourself, BestGoldCard and the bank are not in any way at fault. Note that any programs similar to BGC’s WILL ALSO BE TERMINATED.

For those cardholders who have loaded their card very recently and did not have those funds actually loaded to their card, more good news, we will fortunately be able return those funds back to your DGC account. No cheques will need to be issued in that case.

Thank you for choosing BestGoldCard.

Debit cards and e-gold

Posted In: Debit Cards by Jose

A member of my forum posted a solution to withdraw e-gold through revocash with a debit card.

First you must sign up with Revocash and then you can order your card with Permaworld (less fees than Virtualmoney).

Virtualmoney does not commercialize directly these cards, they use intermediaries and these intermediaries fix the commissions, and Permaworld is one of the cheaper cards. The problem is that this card is associated with a bank account in USA (Southwest Bank).

Although this card is not sold by Revocash, they let you buy and sell e-gold to the cards supported by VM.

So you only have to load your funds from e-gold to Revocash (it is free) and then you will be able to transfer these funds to Permaworld card:

You can read in https://revocash.com/faq.php:

What is the cost to load ATM Cards by e-gold?

The cost is only 3% with a minimum fee of $5, however you MUST first transfer e-gold to your RevoCash account and then withdraw RevoCash to your ATM card.

We will check this information and if this card is available to withdraw e-gold yet.
