I was testing this private program with a minimum amount of money, and now I don’t recommend you to invest in it. I have removed it from my portfolio: they had more than 50% in losses before and there are not news from the Admin of this program since March.

Someone posted in its private forum that the Administrator is ill and in the hospital. Well, it can be true but as you know there are a lot of excuses in this online investment world when some program wants to run away, and after those losses I can not believe this post and I consider my little money lost.

I recently posted about a new debit card and now I read that a similar debit card: bestgoldcard is having problems and perhaps this can be extended to all of these new debit cards…

I recommend you to wait for more news and not order a new debit card.

As you know, some months ago, all debit cards to withdraw your funds through cirrus/maestro ATM,s were terminated. I hope that these new “VISA” cards will not suffer the same problems.
An answer from bestgoldcard:

Dear xxxxxx,

No doubt our cardholders are wondering what’s going on with BestGoldCard! We apologize for keeping everyone in the dark as we sorted out issues arising this week. Due to regulatory issues beyond the control of the bank, the issuing bank of your current (”new”) card is forced to and has in fact terminated your card.

Before reading further, there is very GOOD NEWS:

(*) For those cardholders with a balance… You will receive a refund by cheque direct from the bank within a few days. You will not have to do ANYTHING, fill in any forms etc., to do this.

(*) In a few weeks BGC is offering an amazing new membership that will offer you totally unprecedented benefits in the DGC world, along with an incredible prepaid card unlike anything seen in the industry before in terms of costs and advantages.

(*) BGC will of course replace your current card, which has been terminated today, with the new card completely free of charge, including shipping and handling.

We share the frustration that you will be without a card for 4-8 weeks, but the regulatory environment is absolutely beyond the control of the banks and the DGC industry.

Again, due to regulatory issues beyond the control of the bank, the issuing bank of your current (”new”) card is forced to and has in fact terminated your card. Yourself, BestGoldCard and the bank are not in any way at fault. Note that any programs similar to BGC’s WILL ALSO BE TERMINATED.

For those cardholders who have loaded their card very recently and did not have those funds actually loaded to their card, more good news, we will fortunately be able return those funds back to your DGC account. No cheques will need to be issued in that case.

Thank you for choosing BestGoldCard.

This week: 2,80%

Hello.

Intense events - braking up with my girlfriend, agitated relatives
coming over unannounced, close friends with problems seeking advice from
me and the list just goes on like that - have successfully and
completely disrupted my otherwise perfectly planned weekly schedule. I
confess I am ecstatic this week is finally over! Now I can move on and
look forward to having a better week next week :-)

Considering what I have previously mentioned, I am very satisfied with
my business related accomplishments this week.
I could go into detail and explain how many Betfair sessions it took me
to get up to 2.80% profit after Monday’s 0.20% loss… but I’d better
take care of your payments instead ;-)

2.80% net profit for investors this week!
E-Gold and E-Bullion profit and referral payments have been executed;
check your e-currency account to verify yours!

If you have questions or opinions, send me an e-mail, PM or post it on
Life Holdings forum .
That’s all for now. I wish you a great weekend. :-)

Mutual Independence: Ponzi?

Posted In: Ponzis by Jose

A member of my forum invested in this program and posted this information that I would like to share with you:

BEWARE: MI Uses Selective SCAM Scheme!

What a day! First 2 payments were OK…
Unfortunately, starting from 3rd, biggest one, 3-17 April payment around $4k there was NOTHING - no money, no response to my email & PM whatsoever…

Today I politely asked for an explanation in MI forum - third post in Payment Experience under subject Re was instantly deleted and I was banned from

MI forum (alias resilient).

The same time I got the security alert from e-gold regarding my account unauthorized login attempt:

The login attempt was made from:
IP address: 195.169.217.50
ISP Host: vhe-400150.sshn.net

Here is the intruder WHOIS info:

I did emailed to e-gold support/DDU department after that with investigation request:

Question: Hello, I have the strong reasons to believe that the attack on my e-gold account has been made due to the recent issue I have with Mutual Independence investment program, registered on name Sebastian Diaz (http://www.mutualindependence.com), his operating e-gold account #4159478 (Mutual Independence). He stop paying me, does not answering on my support requests and banned me from his forum today for my inquiry w/out any explanation/feedback. I suspect he does selective scam on bigger amounts invested. Thereby I request you to freeze and put on hold his account #4159478 until he provide the satisfying explanations and returns the money as per the agreement. Please contact me ASAP by e-mail or phone, thank you in advance!

The quote from e-gold Due Diligence Unit response:

We have investigated and blocked account number 4159478.
Unfortunately we will not be able to refund your money because all e-gold spends are final
and not reversible as stated in the e-gold account user agreement. You
might want to consider obtaining some combination of help from a legal
professional or law enforcement to obtain a court order or subpoena, if the
size of your loss warrants expenditure of your resources (time and money) to resolve.

Now seems that others in MI forum started to have the similar experiences with even $50 deposits…

Well, the MI admin called itself Sebastian Diaz is probably got the starting capital for another scam rather quick and running away for now..

Please see MI related transaction report from e-gold here.

IP ID field

Posted In: Security by Jose

Each original IP packet has a set of values (source address, destination address, protocol, identification, fragment offset, bit MF -more fragments-…).

In a flow of packets with certain values, the IP ID field will vary for each packet (usually increasing it in a unit), thus identifying univocally each one of the packets.

So, if we would be receiving a flow of packets (for example in a tcp connection) sent by a system with an implementation of the IP protocol like this one, we would see a continuous sequence of IP ID numbers like 44567, 44568, 44569…

Actually it’s very usual to find in computer networks devices such as NATs (Network Address Translators) and load-balancers. These devices are generically denominated “middle-boxes” and they mask by means of a network address an amount of different devices.

For example, behind this IP address: 128.0.0.1 (the visible IP to the outside) could be other devices behind and invisible to everybody. But although the existence of more than one system behind the same IP address is transparent to all the users, it’s possible to detect network configurations like the mentioned one through the “Identification” (ID) field.

Let’s go. Suppose that the system 128.0.0.1 has a load-balancer that distributes different requests to a “farm” of servers. Using the utility hping (http://www.hping.org) we could send an amount of connection requests (SYN segments) and observe the IP ID field of the obtained answers.

For example:

#hping2 -c 10 -i 1 -p 80 -S 128.0.0.1

HPING 128.0.0.1 (eth0 128.0.0.1): S set, 40 headers + 0 data bytes

46 bytes from 120.0.0.1: flags=SA seq=0 ttl=56 id=57645 win=16616 rtt=21.2 ms

46 bytes from 120.0.0.1: flags=SA seq=1 ttl=56 id=57650 win=16616 rtt=21.4 ms

46 bytes from 120.0.0.1: flags=SA seq=2 ttl=56 id=18574 win=0 rtt=21.3 ms

46 bytes from 120.0.0.1: flags=SA seq=3 ttl=56 id=18587 win=0 rtt=21.1 ms

46 bytes from 120.0.0.1: flags=SA seq=4 ttl=56 id=18588 win=0 rtt=21.2 ms

46 bytes from 120.0.0.1: flags=SA seq=5 ttl=56 id=57741 win=16616 rtt=21.2 ms

46 bytes from 120.0.0.1: flags=SA seq=6 ttl=56 id=18589 win=0 rtt=21.2 ms

46 bytes from 120.0.0.1: flags=SA seq=7 ttl=56 id=57742 win=16616 rtt=21.7 ms

46 bytes from 120.0.0.1: flags=SA seq=8 ttl=56 id=57743 win=16616 rtt=21.6 ms
46 bytes from 120.0.0.1: flags=SA seq=9 ttl=56 id=57744 win=16616 rtt=21.3 ms

— 128.0.0.1 hping statistic —

10 packets tranmitted, 10 packets received, 0% packet loss

round-trip min/avg/max = 21.1/21.3/21.7 ms

As you can see there are 2 numerical sequences to the IP ID field. This shows that the system 128.0.0.1 is in fact a load-balancer who distributes the received requests to 2 different systems, and these last ones are who really are in charge to process the information.

With this same technique it’s possible to detect, in many cases, the amount of existing systems behind other types of middle-boxes, such as NATs.

But not only that, you can also detect IP aliases (an “ip alias” is an ip who belongs to a network interface who it already has another address assigned). For example:

128.0.0.1, 172.0.0.1 and 170.210.17.150 could belong to the same network interface.

So, using hping like I used before we can find out (observing the IP ID field) if an IP is an alias of other different IP or not. We could send some requests to the first IP address and analyze the IP ID values, and then we could do the same with the other IP. If they follow the same pattern we will know that this address is an alias.

Well, not all systems follow this pattern increasing in a unit the transmitted packet. Some other systems use other ones, like maintaining it constant in some predetermined value, or they increase it in a certain amount. For example +256 for each packet transmitted to the flux of packets (for example in a tcp connection).

So, following the pattern’s variation of the IP ID field, you can determine the possible operative system. Although this information will contribute to the detection of that operative system, the result will be slightly precise.

Also with this technique you can find out if some machine is sending information to other machines and the amount of data sent…

Do you know how? ;)

The solution for these problems to reveal such type of information consists in “randomize” the identification field of the packets sent. In the communication protocols we should make possible to randomize the maximum amount of values.

Systems like OpenBSD (http://www.openbsd.org) realize this operation. It can avoid some attacks or obtaining some extra information like the one I’ve posted in this article.

New fraud?

Posted In: General, Investments by Jose

What would you do in this situation?:

You find a good program to invest that show you real trading, ID and telephone verified and all seems perfect.

But some months later the Admin of this program tells you that he must close his program without sending a valid proof of this action. Well, you think, I will receive my funds very soon and I will invest in another good program.

Ok, but then you receive an email from this Admin and it says that all members will be refunded in partial payments, and these partial payments will be about 5% monthly of your deposit. So, you are not going to receive your promised profit never more, and the most important: you must wait 20 months to receive your real money!!

You are losing a lot because this money could be making profit in other programs or even in your bank, and perhaps you need your money and you must wait a lot of months to receive it.

You know that if lawyers take part in this situation you will receive only a part of your funds and this Admin could live in another country, so it will cost you a lot of money to get your funds with lawyers. And of course, any program has a disclaimer section and you are not sure if you will get your funds or not.

So, what can you do?. Is this a new strategy from scammers?.

It’s easier to get money from many members instead of going to your bank and asking for a loan. And then you are making profit with the money of these members and paying them only their deposits (partially) without profit.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
